5.5. A discussion of monitoring relating to the safety of geological disposal facilities after closure is given in an IAEA TECDOC9. Plans for monitoring with the aim of providing assurance of safety after closure have to be drawn up before the construction of a geological disposal facility to indicate possible monitoring strategies. However, plans have to remain flexible and, if necessary, they will have to be revised and updated during the development and operation of the facility.

[5.5] 안전성 접근법
5.5. 폐쇄 후 지층처분시설의 안전성과 관련한 모니터링에 대한 논의는 IAEA TECDOC9에 제시되어 있다. 폐쇄 후 안전성에 대한 확신을 제공한다는 목적과 관련하여 모니터링 계획은 지층처분시설의 건설 전에 가능한 모니터링 전략을 제시하기 위해 수립되어야 한다. 그러나, 그 계획은 유동적이어야 하고 필요하다면, 그 계획들은 처분시설의 개발과 운영 동안 수정되거나 갱신될 수 있어야 할 것이다.
