처분시설은 운영기간 동안 안전성을 유지하기 위해 관련 규제요건과 승인조건에 부합되게 운영되어야 한다. 또한 폐쇄 후 안전성에 중요한 Safety Case에서 가정된 안전조건을 보존하기 위한 방법으로 운영되어야 한다.
