The safety case should also address the evolution of the disposal facility and its potential impacts for times beyond the end of the safety assessment calculations, if at that point in time non-negligible hazards are still expected to exist. This should be done by means of simplified estimates and qualitative arguments rather than through the application of quantitative safety criteria. For example, for deep geological disposal facilities, this may be done by using arguments about the geological stability of the site.
