A clear description of the end points for the assessment should be provided, together with a justification for their selection, including:@@- The assessment end points for radiological impact such as levels of dose or risk. These will usually relate to the regulations applicable to the facility, and it will be necessary to demonstrate that the selected assessment end points are consistent with the purpose of the assessment and with relevant regulatory requirements and guidance.@@- Other safety indicators such as concentrations and fluxes of radionuclides, concentrations and fluxes of non-radiological contaminants and impacts on non-human species.@@- A description of how the assessment end points will be used, for example, to determine compliance with radiological and environmental standards, or to make comparisons with natural background levels of radioactivity.
