6.48. 방사성물질과 관련한 운영 개시에 대한 승인을 받은 후, 작업자, 대중, 환경에 대해 적절한 방사선방호를 제공하도록 운영허가 조건과 관련 규제요건에 부합하도록 시설이 운영되어야 한다. 시설 운영은 안전성을 제공하는 승인된 절차에 따라 수행되어야 한다[4, 18, 19].
