6.14. 부지와 주변 환경에 대한 상세한 내용은 추가적인 현장, 실험실 및 지하환경 연구를 통해 얻어져야 한다. 이러한 연구는 부지고유의 데이터에 기초한 방사성핵종 거동의 모델링을 가능하게 해야 하며, 부지의 상세 공학적 특성을 수립하고 또한 처분시설 설계의 개발에 기여해야 한다.
