The scope and structure of the documentation setting out the safety case and supporting safety assessment depend on the step reached in the project for the geological disposal facility and on national requirements. This includes consideration of the needs of different interested parties for information. Important considerations in documenting the safety case are justification of decisions, traceability of reasoning and clarity of information. Depending on the needs of the different interested parties, documents may need to be prepared at various levels of detail and in different styles.
