A safety case and supporting safety assessment shall be prepared and updated by the operator, as necessary, at each step in the development of a disposal facility, in operation and after closure. The safety case and supporting safety assessment shall be submitted to the regulatory body for approval. [(5.6?5.7)] Safety Case와 안전성 평가의 준비, 승인 및 이용
Safety Case와 이를 뒷받침하는 안전성 평가는 처분시설의 개발, 운영 및 폐쇄 후 각 단계에 운영자가 준비, 필요시 갱신해야 한다. Safety Case와 이를 뒷받침하는 안전성 평가가 승인을 위해 규제기관에 제출되어야 한다. 규제기관에게 각 단계에 필요한 의사결정을 알리기 위하여 필요한 기술적 조언을 제공하도록 Safety Case와 이를 뒷받침하는 안전성 평가는 충분히 상세하고 포괄적이어야 한다.
