1.29. 본 간행물은 정치방식으로 이루어지는 모든 종류의 방사성폐기물의 처분에 적용되며, 이때 처분시설은 폐기물의 처분과 시설의 개발, 운영 및 폐쇄에 적용되는 필수제약조건과 통제를 받아 설계된 시설로 본다. 방사성폐기물의 분류는 참고자료[12]에서 다룬다.
